Infrastructure

The operation centre of PML is at par with the best in the industry. PML has a total combined office space of 5000 Sq.ft to house its staff and development activities. Well furnished with ambient lighting, ample moving space, completely carpeted and totally air-conditioned, PML makes sure that its associates have a comfortable environment to work.

Networking

The infrastructure consists of three dedicated HP servers running on Windows 2003. The workstations are all Windows XP or 2000. Internal networking is through 24 port switches and hubs. A dedicated machine hosts the company’s email servers, proxy servers and connects to the Internet world. PML has a 24hrs 512kb cable modem Internet connectivity with a 512kb ISDN phone line backup facility. PML’s web site is hosted on servers in the US with reputed ISP’s.

Hardware

PML’s engineers use the latest and the best in development machines with the lowest end configuration consisting of an Intel Motherboard, 512MB RAM, 4MB Video Cards, 80GB Hard Disks, 15” monitors. At the high end PML uses dual processor 3GHz Pentium on Intel Workstation mother boards with 1GB RAM, 32MB Video RAM 20” monitors etc.
Considering the fluctuating power situation, PML has a dedicated stabilized power supply backup source. In addition all machines have stand alone 0.5 KVA UPS and the servers, switches, hubs, EPABX etc., are fed by two 2KVA online UPS. PML has authenticated hardware suppliers for its computers and spares.

Software

PML’s development activity is currently standardized on Microsoft’s Windows platform. PML is a certified Microsoft Partner. The desktop machines run on Windows XP or 2000 workstation. PML has licensed the required number of server licenses, client access licenses, workstation licenses etc. It also has the required licenses for every one of its developers to use VC++, Visual Studio.Net, MS Office and other Microsoft tools.

In addition PML has is also a licensed user of Microsoft’s MSDN subscription to keep itself abreast of the latest in technologies. In addition PML also has a wide collection of licensed third party software development tools for using in GUI design, debugging etc. PML believes in using licensed software for all its activities and subscribes to Nasscom’s anti-piracy software policies.

PML has a dedicated team to take care of the system administration of the company’s workstations. PML proposes, in the near future, to expand its development platforms to include Linux and Java as well.
